Hay Guys and Gals

I’ve been surfing the site for some time now, finely decided to join. So here I am. I have been raising fish for at least fifty years now. At the moment I have a 10 gallon, a 75 gallon and 2270 gallon pool / pond setup. The 10 gallon is for my baby Alligator Snapping Turtle, the 75 gallon is set up as a native / tropical tank. In it I have six small Grass Pickerel each around three and a half long, a couple of Black Madtoms and a Pirate Perch. My pool / pond is set up for out grows of my 75 gallon Tank. In it there are several Black Bulls and Yellow Bulls, several Bluegills and a good colony of Mosquitofish, and plenty of Grass.

Thanks for the welcome. They make a good starter pool. The only thing about those pools with the air blather, is that the rot. You will be replacing it about every two to three years. The air blather around the top try rots from the sun. Mine lasted three years. This time I went with one of the steel frame type from Entex. I am using the same pump and filter.

I have been meaning to get one of those steel-walled ponds from Wal-Mart. I calculate they are about 4400 gallons in capacity. I need to build my plant ponds first. I'm glad you posted about your pool - I have been curious about how long they last.

Here are some pictures of my new pond. The old one was 1700 gallon 12X9X3. And my new one is 12’X 3’ 2270 gallon, a lot better. I have plains on building a deck around it and putting a Three foot Waterfall in the back coming on some rocks. That’s the plain.
