i guess maybe bluespoted sunfish man its so young even the black band under the eye is hard to see.

If it is a Bluespotted sunfish that would be awesome It would also be be troubling since it is a protected species. I guess I'll have to wait until it gets older. I thought that the Bluespotted sunfish was only found in the Pine BarrensI agree, appears to be a bluespotted.

The funny thing is that I've caught Redbreast,Pumpkinseed and Bluegill sunfish for 30+ years now. As far I can recall I've never caught a Bluespotted, Banded or Mud sunfish. I do a lot of ultra light fishing so I catch more then my fair share of sunfish. I think I need to look more closely at some of the sunfish I catch.
