Hi gang,

I thought I might throw out a teaser as a follow up to my post last night on sucker husbandry. As I mentioned, the blacktail redhorse (M. poecilurum) is my favorite among the Moxostoma and stay at a relatively decent size for the genus. Don't let the name fool you... They should be commonly known as the orangefin redhorse.

The file is large and is a .MOV file. I appologize for both, as I know that its limited to folks with broadband and people with Quicktime. I am in the process of getting my computer firewire ready, installing editing software and the etc, as I've run into the good fortune of aquiring Hi-Def video equipment, and will be taking things to another level in the near future.

Anyway, this is a 75 gallon "Gulf Drainages" tank from southern Alabama and the Panhandle of Florida.

The link is http://www.farmertod...il_Redhorse.MOV 11.5 mb

"Right click, Save As" seems to be the most effective way to assure proper download.

What you will see is the blacktail redhorse, the large Luxilus minnows are crescent shiners from NC which should be a part of the Convention trips. They're in there mainly due to space, as the "above the fall line" tank next door would be more typical of their habitat. This is my pick species from Luxilus, that's for sure. Those are full size, and the colors really come on at about half this size.

The remainder that you can make out are Pternotropis, and are a mixture of eryzonus, hypselopterus and grandipinnis. There are some welaka in there, but they hang out under the veg to the right, and don't stand out yet (although I'm starting to see some sparkles :) )

The lone kinda red guy is rainbow shiner I need to move over to the "above the fall line" tank next to it.

I hope you enjoy.
