I had two big common shiners (6-7 inches long) in my big fish tank, one died last week, the other is dying today.

Earlier i sawe it floating on the surface and thought it was done for, later i saw it swmming again but rather poorly, it alternated between floating and swimming a few times but has trouble staying in an upright position (it struggles to keep from floating tail up). it's belly looks bloated and it's tail looks chewed to the point it looks forked.

Can I save this fish or should I throw it out now.

If it's sick, throw it out.

Once they get that sick, it's too late.

I threw it out today, it was dead. More disturbing than that was the half of a creek chub i had in their.
