Hi everybody,
I took a day off to go out in the field and try some new photographing techniques. It seemed to have worked, however, the editing is still in need of improvement. Here's some teaser photos for an upcoming trip report;
- a tadpole madtom (Noturus gyrinus) that I found buried in water willow. After photographing this fish, I realized he definitely had some parasitic grubs encysted in his skin.
- a healthy male spotfin shiner (Cyrinella spiloptera). Just working some kinks out of the editing process.
- a nice sized bigmouth buffalo (Ictiobus cyprinellus). I saw quite a few foraging in the area where I was netting. I brought out my fishing pole, put some Cladophora on a hook and I had this guy hooked in no time flat.
I'll post the trip report by Friday (hopefully). Enjoy.
-Nate

Looking good Nate. What, no tank for the Buffalo?
Thanks for the algae tip...I've never done that one.
Keep up the good work and only kidding about the buffalo tank.

Yeah, Susan. I'm using the Olympus. I'm really thinking about getting something with more megapixels though.

Thanks, Lance. I don't fix my catfishes. I just waited this one out. It was a nice day, so I sat there for about 10 minutes with a cold beverage and waited for him to pose. He was a tiny one too (~1 inch long).
