Does anyone else use Aqualog?

I downloaded it from the website months ago and have found it beneficial for recording information related to my tanks/fish. Information like water perameters, date and/or I recieved a particular fish, breeding, raising fry etc. You can tailor it to your specific needs.

Another feature I like is it gives me reminders when maintenance is due (or past due ). For example, I have mine set up to track how often I want to do water changes, clean the algae scrubber, change flourescents etc. I then set it up to inform me starting three days in advance.

I haven't looked at Aqualog, but I created my own database using HanDBase. I ran it on my Palm and now use it on an iPod Touch. I used pen and paper when I started keeping fish. The database helps me keep track of things like maintenance, I couldn't imagine doing without it.

That sounds interesting. I didn't know that you could get an application to do stuff like that. I thought everyone else just picked a time (like the first of the month, or a specific weekday) to do maintenance.

Unfortunately for me, I have to clear out the intake valves to all of my filters and powerheads every day. The tank is so heavily planted with hornwort and alive with snails that I have to put a special net layer on the intake tube of the machinery, which stops the gunk from going inside but then itself gets clogged. It doesn't take long to get the gunk off, maybe five seconds per machine per day. But being near the equipment every day means that when it needs maintenance, I can tell. *sighs* I wish I had the luxury to forget to clean the tank.
