Howdy all,

Nate's most recent post regarding a blennies identification prompted me to search Amazon and other online book stores for field guides to Atlantic Coast fishes. The only one I was able to find (and previously knew about) was Petersons Field Guide to Atlantic Coast Fishes. I'm sure Petersons Guide is enough to wet my whistle for awhile; however, I like having several guides at my fingertips to strengthen my identification.

Does anybody know of other field guides for Atlantic Coast fishes? Please post regional or more scientific/taxonomy based guides too -- as getting acquainted with distribution, habitat, and relationships helps me narrow down possibilities and therefore improve identification skills before I even step in the water.

** I'm not interested in any Audubon Field guides as the ones I already own collect dust and sit on the bookshelf.

Blake

I haven't looked at it in a while so I don't remember how much Atlantic species it would also cover, but what about Fishes of the Chesapeake Bay by Murdy et al.?
