this is last minute and i apologize for that. I have now till monday to continue to fish before school starts back up. I will be going down to rhode island to collect and rescue tropical strays that will die when the weather turns cold. New England Aquarium will be hosting a Tropical Fish Rescue BBQ on Sunday. I will be attending that as well. But outside of that anyone is welcome to join me. I snorkel and use small nets to scoop up the fish. Casper was always right about snorkeling! its amazing. we can also seine in the eelgrass's. We will catch a few species of filefish, spotfin butterfly's, northern puffers, band-tail puffers, menhaden, cunner, tau tog, sculpins, sticklebacks, mummichogs, sheepshead minnows, silversides, lobsters (but leave in the water and release, scup, oyster-toad fish, winter flounder, summer flounder, rock gunnel, rainwater killifish, striped killifish, blue crab, short big eye, damsel fish (maybe) surgeonfish, lots of different crabs, grass shrimp, sand shrimp, moon jellies (unfortunately), northern pipefish, lined seahorses, cowfish, snowy grouper, and much more that i cant even think of. its real fun and different from freshwater. you basically never know what you are gonna drag in. hope someone can come...either way ill be there alone! always helps with seining with extra people!!!

That should be fun. Out of sheer curiosity I gotta ask, have you ever seined pogies near shore? I'm not sure I ever saw any from a beach seine. You might even net a snapper blue.
