Hi everyone,

I'am new to this forum. Recently I disover the N.Chrosomus. Wauw I never saw A fish like this. I was lucky to buy some and hope I can breed them. So I can hold them in a big group.
By the way I'am from the Netherlands so ou're climate is great for this fish. The reason why I'am here is to learn more about this rainbow shinner and to gather tips and tricks to let them spawn. But I also very interested in other shinners like the Notropsis lutipinnis. Hopefully I can find somebody who can help me to send some to my.
Because here in Netherland there is nothing to find.

kind regards, Ferry

There are plenty of interesting fish in the Netherlands. Buy a seine or a dipnet and get out there. Here's a list of your local species: http://fish.mongabay...Netherlands.htm

But yes, Notropis lutipinnis is beautiful. I agree with you on that.

With nothing to find I ment there are no American shiners here. A some have the rainbowshinner or red shinner but thats it.

But it is funny that you show the list of fish swimming here in Holland. I used to helped a biologist to detetimate the fish here. Its kind of strange that everybody or most people are interesting in fish from around the world but not open their eyes for the treasures they have nearby. We say the grass is alway's greener by the neigboor.

Also I say the shinners from America are 'greener' than the shinners we have here.

But can you send me some yellow shinners or redlip shiners.

kind regards, Ferry

There are almost certainly legal issues in shipping fish to the Netherlands. While I was out this weekend and saw a lot of yellowfins. I have no idea what it would take to legally ship any. I am certianly not qualified to export fish.

Thanks for all the replies by the way. I use to recieved fish from Asian without a problem. They just send it by mail. And a few day's later they swim in mine tanks. Its all about hobby not for trade. But I understand it don't work that way in the US.

kind regards, Ferry

No, is is just a morph of a quote that was in one of my rants when we were discussing NANFA... maybe even it was an email conversation... but really it just represents my opinion of the best of NANFA... what it is, or should be... sort of its first best destiny.
