I have a 25 gallon bowfront tank (except for the bowing front it is 24 x 12 but only about 18 H). Currently have it set up Walsted method (deep soil substrate, lots of plants, no filter) and have an adult bluespot in there. I oculd see having a trio in there but not much more. Tank mates have in the past included swamp darters, tadpole madtoms, even Fundulus chrysotus. Could easily imagine having 2 swamps and 2 topminnows in with a trio of Enneacanthus.
Thanks for the quick reply! I've been reading up on the blackbanded vs. bluespotted, and am thinking it would be best to stick with one or the other in the same tank, but not both? And, if all I can keep is a trio, then I'm for sure sticking with one. Probably the bluespotted, if I have to choose between them.
I'll have to give this some thought, because I also have a 40L tank I could use. May be the better option?
