I made a trip to Brushy Creek today to gather some river gravel and rock to use in setting up my new aquarium for native Texas fish. I took my net just to sample the water and see what we might have in our local creek. I caught Blacktail shiners, Creek Chubs, Shad, a channel cat and assortment of Sunfish. I saw some Guadalupe Bass but did not net any of them. It looks like I can stock my aquarium from our local creek if I want as soon as it is set up and ready. All were returned to the creek except the shad which I kept for catfish bait.

Brushy Creek Longear. Each area of Texas they look a little different. I also think some of them have crossed with Green Sunfish. ET

Very cool....some of our Longears at a creek in my area have hybridized with Bluegill, makes for some interesting shapes and markings.
