Hi everyone. Just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Ray and I've been keeping fish, native and non, for almost 20 yrs now. Natives are my passion though. I've studied fisheries management a little in college, but have not yet gotten my degree. I've been a vollunteer with IDNR and USFWS for a few years now......they occasionally give some some work too. Anyways, as with most of you guys, I love natives and hope to contribute to the forum. I also spend my free time on S2Ki.com and Clubstogie.com forums, a couple more costly vices of mine.

Here's a picture of my ugly mug so you know who you're talking too. My dog is Una, our only son. :)

If you look for a place to eat in Chicago, check out Bob Chinn's Seafood. IMO, one of Chicago's top restaurants, and my #1 fav. Awsome food. Go Bears!

In my experience: Bob Chinn's is fantastic for lunch, and weekdays dinner. Weekends are more iffy, lines are long and service and quality suffers. Not formal or stuffy, but not overly loud either. Chinn's is one of the top 5 restaurants (in gross sales) in the country for good reason. And its right on the Des Plaines river! Also, its NOT in Chicago, it is in Wheeling, a NW suburb (about 15 miles north of O'Hare airport).

The one in town is on 34th st., very close to Michigan Ave. It's right on that River/Canal or whatever it is. My wife and I stayed at the House of Blues Hotel downtown, and it was only 1 block away. I've heard there's also one in Naperville.

Live and learn. I guess I do not get into Chicago enough. I feel ashamed, being a home town boy and all. The Chinn's website (www.bobchinns.com) only lists the original (Wheeling) and the proposed Kenosha restaurant. Incidentally, 34th street is incorrect. I looked it up, it is 321 N LaSalle. About 4 blocks west of Michigan Avenue, right on the Chicago River.

ROFL, I guess we both learned something. A great place to eat nonetheless.

I've had their seafood before, think I munched on some crab legs. Excellent.
