I live in Central Florida and have a 5000 gallon pond that I would like to keep fish in other than Gold fish. I don't want the fish to get larger than 5" long. The fish must survive 40 degree water up to maybe 90 degree water. If you have any idea's it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Cool. Do you have any pictures? I think most minnows would do very well in your pond. Small catfish like madtoms, smaller sunfish, and killifish would probably do well too. If it gets up to 90 degrees, a lot of fish that like colder water like sculpins wouldn't survive, and while I think the fish listed above would survive, I'm not sure. Especially the killifish. I know only what I've read about them. ;-)

I would go with native Florida sunfish that stay under 5" like you stated you wanted.

Bluespotted Sunfish
Blackbanded Sunfish
Banded Sunfish
Dollar Sunfish
Any of the pygmy Sunfish

Could get a little bigger then 5" but cool fish that don't get very big.

Mud Sunfish
Spotted Sunfish

Other options

Florida Flagfish
Sailfin Molly
Speckled Madtom
Tadpole Madtom

NOT NATIVE TO FLORIDA, BUT FIT YOUR NEEDS OF STAYING UNDER 5"

Bantam Sunfish
Orangespotted Sunfish

I'm not sure how well they would survive the cold they are very fragile from what I've heard.
