Wow, that's a little bit outside their known range. Aren't they usually found only in the Ohio river valley and maybe Iowa?

There is a stable population is some of river drainages in Texas. I have just never found one in Brushy Creek and I have been chasing them for about 6 months. ET

I love looking at all the differences in O-throats. I think its amazing that there is so much variation in one species. Somebody should compile a photos series showing all the different O-throats.
Is that a little bit of orange coloration in the front dorsal fin? Great looking fish.

Much of that variation is probably because it's not just one species, but a group of species. Some new species have already been erected out of the original species.
Well that's what I meant. The species that have come from that one. I know I've caught 3 very different "looking" O-throats here in Central KY.
