I have 4 bullhead in my big fish tank. Though I got all four at the same time one is significantly larger than the other fish in my tank. This same bullhead is also the rarest of my fish. I can go weeks or months without seeing him before he comes out of hiding. My other bullheads are not that way. Any way to encourage the big guy to come out of hiding?

Just drop a couple fish hooks in...I'm sure he'll be right out to swallow them as fast as possible....

I don't think there is. I have a small one of my tank that I only see at night and not every night. I didn't even know it was still alive for over a month I thought my crayfish had gotten it. I'm still holding out hope that my Margined Madtom is alive and is hiding but it's been over 4 months and I think I would have seen it by now.

I had a brindled madtom in with 2 ~7" grass pickerel and one of them got a hold of him one night for a few seconds so he stopped coming out ever. Pretty sure if there are what they perceive as predators in the tank with them they don't come out. He's since been moved into a 55 with 8 juvenile longears and now he's not afraid to come out to eat or at night.

I have a yellow bullhead that will never come out unless all room lights and fish tank lights are off. so I sneak into the room with a flashlight and surprise him.
