Thanks for posting the nice detailed views of Eli's setup. Yeah, the moonlight strip sounds like a good idea. He's obviously thriving under your care. A long way from the filthy China town holding tank you found him in.

Maybe add some aged hardwood leaves to the tank. This will condition the water, and give him cover and somewhere to rummage around in.

I added a comment about the driftwood. When the wood is thoroughly waterlogged it'll be sort of spongy on the outside and you can scrape it off with your fingernail. It couldn't hurt to take a metal scrubbing pad and, where the growths are, scrub away the top layer of wood or two.

Hey thanks! It's still floating. Who knows how long it will take to sink. At first I didn't really like the floating look, but people who walk by the tank seem to really like it!
