I am having so much fun with my new fish that I got from Brian Zimmerman! Brian spent a lot of time with me emailing back and forth to help me to decide just what would work in my tanks and I'm so grateful to him. I have spent the last year dealing with extreme health issues and the three tanks that sit around my recliner have been a Godsend for keep me entertained, relaxed and not thinking about my health!

I ended up with least darters, rainbow darters and orangethroat darters, each in different tanks and they are too charming for words! They all arrived very healthy and fit right in with my other fish right away. Just like everyone told me they would, they have started coming to the front of the tanks at feeding time to sit and watch me and beg. Also, the pond snail population in all three of these tanks has definitely gone down!

I also got spotfin shiners for my 150 gal outdoor pond to live with my large fancy goldfish. I haven't seen much of them yet because they are small and fast and it's a very deep tub. The water is also still a bit murky because I haven't been able to get all of the water cleaning plants out there yet. I think it will be so beautiful to see a school of silver fish moving around with my fancy goldfish!

So thank you again Brian for all of your help and the great healthy fish!

That sounds wonderful :) If you'd like to post some pictures of your native fish tanks and the fish enjoying their setups, we'd love to see them.

Brian is great! He is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I saw his fish room once and it was fantastic! I know he's done a lot more work on it since I saw it, too.

Hi Erica - as soon as the little guys get over being shy I'll try to get photos! My tanks aren't true natives though as they are stocked with tropical plants and a variety of danios and white clouds. Since danios and white cloud mountain minnows have similar needs, it was easy to add darters to the mix. The darters are so cute with their little head swivels and eye rolls!

Okey dokey, Irate! I'm enjoying getting to know more about native fish so joining seems a logical step.
