Need Id help

Well I can't seem to make it bigger, but I do not see a red spot on the ear So I would have to go with Longear Sunfish.

i agree.
i think it is a Sunfish,Lepomis genus Lepomis megalotis. Longear Sunfish common name.

this fish looks to be young and has grown fast it has a wide body and a small pointed face.
but then again it may be a dollar the pic is just not clear.

Reckon you are not in extreme northern Illinois, because that looks like a "central" longear sunfish.
