Greetings NANFA members. I wanted to say hello and that I am very excited about becoming a member of NANFA.
I have been working as a fisheries biologist in California and Oregon for close to 10 years, and I have been a sport fisherman for 20+ years, so I have a lot of experience with North American fishes. Most of my experience with North American natives is from capturing and observing fish as part of scientific studies. This included a lot of snorkeling, electrofishing, seigning, and netting.

I just recently started up a community 29 gallon with:
Batnam sunfish
Bluespotted sunfish
and
Lined topminnows

and the NANFA forums has been instrumental in providing me with advice.
I hope to post some photos at some point in the future.
Thanks.
-Nick

California/Oregon. Sorry about your luck!

But hey, life is good when you have a collecting permit!

Thanks guys. I do have a scientific collecting permit, but it's a no go for personal aquarium collection.

What a pretty tank! And I love the photos of the fish. What species are those?

Looks like Enneacanthus gloriosus to me (bluespotted sunfish).

Yup,
Bluespotted sunfish, a Bantam, and a couple lined topminnows.
I tried to add more pics but it wouldn't let me...?..

Your pictures are pretty big. I just changed your group so you have more allowed space now.

Thanks Drew. Is there an easy way to remove photos?
Here are the rest of my photos below.
