5 gallon aquarium?

I was just wondering what everybody would suggest for a five gallon aquarium. My guess is that it would only work for a couple small minnows. These fish don't have to be from my area (utah) but they do have to be native to the united states. It would be nice if you could give me a set up idea for the particular fish you suggest. Thanks
