I have some free time this weekend and was thinking about taking a trip to central or west central Ohio. Here are locations I am thinking about. Little Miami river around the Caesar Creek area,Paint creek,or the Big Darby. Here's what I'm looking for accessibility,# of species to sample, and I may want to collect a couple. I was thinking about Big Darby but was told that it was illegal to collect at the metro parks. Is this true or not? Also is their good access to Paint creek that is public?
As collecting goes I would like Steelcolor shiners, banded darters, and Variegate darter. If anyone has any suggestions on where I could collect these legally, plus see and photogragh alot of species. Please let me know. I plan on heading that way Saturday morning early. Thanks for any help.

variegate darter, little Miami, park downstream of Foster Or Darby.
Paint creek there is access by the 73 bridge in Bainbridge.
If you are right about sampling metro parks, park near Trapper Johns canoe livery.
