Does anyone know of any literature on their introduction's effect on native species or is to early to draw conclusions?

Howdy Andrew,

In short, I don't have any concrete answers for you. However, I do know Maryland Invasive Species Resource Center is looking at them, so hopefully Matt will be able to chime in and provide some clarity.

With that being said, there is a voluminous PDF (=free, also in book format) that introduces everything you could ever care to know about channids and their putative risk in the U.S. (what you're looking for starts around page 40). The download for this PDF is linked (too big for attaching) along with a paper that introduces a categorical system for introduced fishes and provides some basic information on Channa. If nothing else, they will be nice to have on the forum for those interested.
