While I was cleaning out my pond I found what I believe is a juvenile Walleye, but I'm not sure. He either come on some plants or in my bucket of minnows I bought and put in there this Spring.
It sure looks the part. Does it have the glassy/hazy looking eyes that are typical for walleyes?

I didn't really pay attention to the eyes! But a Walleye fisherman who was at my house said that he was fairly confident that it was a Walleye, but wasn't sure because he had never seen a young one.It sure looks the part. Does it have the glassy/hazy looking eyes that are typical for walleyes?

Same here, I don't think it would be considered bragging to say that all walleyes I've caught are bigger than this one, so I really couldn't say what the eyes look like at that age. I have caught saugers that were just a little bigger than my thumb and they had the hazy looking eyes, but I really can't say for a walleye. He is a cool looking little feller. Wish he would have stuck his dorsal fin up for the photo. Thanks for sharing. Pretty cool find.
Steve.

You might check out the photo of the juvenile walleye by NateTessler13 in his trip report to the Maumee river in Grand Rapids OH -7-5-11. The eyes look the same as the one in your photos.

easy way to tell -- stick your finger in its mouth.
LMAO that was going to be my response!
a LFS was selling young walleyes about 5 years ago. My brother and I picked up 4 just to try to raise them and they didn't do well. I was guessing because of the temperature not being cool enough. They started out at 2.5-3" TL and they looked a different. Maybe yours is a saugeye?
found this picture online, it looks bigger than yours, but it might help?
