I know it's saltwater but I see some very interesting fish there. Tautog, Black Sea Bass, Cunner, some kind of sculpin colored like seaweed, some kind of eel-like fish also colored like seaweed, pipefish, Northern Pufferfish, Stripers, Flounder, etc. Of course I'm after the tasty American Lobster, and it's loaded with them there. I do have a non-commercial Lobster permit, so I'm legal. If there is a good low tide during the day, i'll be at the jetty next to the canal. Anybody can join me, just make sure your wetsuit is at least 5 mm.

A couple of times we hit runs of bluefish as the tide was changing there. They don't seem to hang around, but blast through in blitzes. And THAT was fishing!
If you are swimming during a bluefish blitz don't wear anything shiny. I heard stories of swimmers bitten.
