How come when the server resizes my pictures it turns out all grainy and pixely? Just click on the picture guys to see the true quality. I mean they are not the best but better than what they appear.

Hard to explain why they look grainy but here is my attempt. When you view a digital photo you are looking at square pixels stacked with all different colors. Now if the pixel dimensions are not in the correct order the photo will look grainy. Further explanation I know is needed so here it is, If the pixels are shown at 50 percent the photo looks sharp. Now take those same pixels and stack them at 46 percent the pixels then become stacked with jagged edges thus making the photo appear grainy or unsharp. At the 50 percent or 100 percent etc etc the edges of the photo appear smoother. But in the case of the Admins sizeing yours down it may not be how the pixels are stacked. It just may be a lack of enough of them to look sharp. This is done to make pages load quicker. Only the thumbnail or in this case the downsized photo Is brought up to view. So for speed purposes the full photo is stored off line and when you click on it you are actually accessing another link to that photo stored off line to save space on this site and make the pages load faster.
And hey if I am wrong, I am wrong what can I say. But my best educated answer is up there.
