Hey everyone, my name is Tim and I am currently attending The Ohio State University Lima, and pursuing a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife...I have been around fishing since I was 6 months old...some say I was born with a rod and reel...I love Native Fish...and I currently have a Longnosed Gar, Yellow perch, and Warmouth in my tank...If anyone wants to fish in or near Lima, or Barberton Ohio, just let me know and Ill be happy to come along.

We'd love to see you on the upcoming Maumee River trip. It seems to me you are not very far away at all.

Man, is Western Ohio turnin' into the place or what? Four years ago, I couldn't even have BEGGED someone to come out fishin', cause there wasn't even someone to ask!

Welcome Tim. I grew up in Lima. You've got some nice streams right there by campus... The upper Ottawa is crawling with some of the largest rainbow, greenside and fantail darters I've seen anywhere. Lots of nice northern longear sunfish as well, if the more sporty guys are your flavor.

The Auglaize is really nice too. You can get every native Great Lakes species of Centrarchid besides warmouth there at Ft. Amanda, just south of SR 117 on your way to Spencerville. Gobs of blackstripe topminnows out there.

Hope you can join us on the late March Maumee Extravaganza!

Where at in Lima did you grw up?...do you still live around there...Im not sure if Ill be able to make it to the Maumee Extravaganza, but maybe sime other stuff....if you still live around Lima, let me know, it would be pretty neat to fish some of the rivers, I have never really trout fished and I would definetly like to learn.

No I moved to Toledo 20 years ago :) But I have family down there and have done a lot of sampling in the streams of my youth. So yeah, I come through pretty frequently.

Trout eh? Someone musta told you about the Mad River. If you want to do the skill thing, yeah there's a lot to learn. I find a carolina rigged floating jighead with a stoneroller or bluntnose minnow tossed up along a log jam or undercut is pretty danged quick work though ;)

I head down there time to time... Usually to look at redside and southern redbelly dace, tounguetied minnows, stickleback and brook lamprey though.
