Easy: creek chub. Large mouth, round x-section body, dark blotch at dorsal base, smaller scales behind head.

Another distinguishing character for creek chubs: they look like they're too tough to die.

That's because they're made of some sort of mystical pulsating rubber, which I'm told cannot be destroyed by mortal means.

This is what it would have looked like if were a bnd (Rhinichthys atratulus) -

male is in the foreground. not sure of the one behind anymore.
