What all do you have in there dred? I see the bluenose and flagfins. Is that a pugnose in the lone picture? You realize this is already most people's dream tank....

Thanks, I have been calling that fish a pugnose. I also have some cherryfin shiners, maybe some young weed shiners, and a creek chubsucker. I think I may stare at this tank more than any of my others.

What's the leafy plant called? A friend of mine brought some back from a sampling trip from some central TN springs a few weeks back. It did great and then all of a sudden crashed on me, the stems just melted on up.

What's the leafy plant called? A friend of mine brought some back from a sampling trip from some central TN springs a few weeks back. It did great and then all of a sudden crashed on me, the stems just melted on up.

I don't know what the plants are, they came from the ditches down here.

Great shot of the pugnose! I know it's sick, given the rest of the fishes in consideration there, but that is my FAVORITE!

The guys with the black stripe through the nose are most likely weed shiners (picture098afa1.jpg). You can confirm this by looking at the anal fin and seeing if there's coloration on the final 4 rays. That's telltale.

The rest aren't that obvious, well besides the bluenose and flagfin

Matt the plants are either "Hygrophylia" or "Rotala". Maybe when NativePlanter's life settles down a bit we can ask her for a more positive ID, if no one else has an idea beyond that generic identification.

I really like the pugnose too. They are very personable and always want to that their picture taken.

Looks great! On first glance I thought the chubsucker was a Sharpfin Chubsucker because it's a little slender. But cool if it's a Creek Chubsucker. (I just had mine jump out of a pretty well covered tank!)

Man, that's a sweet looking tank. I just took my big tank down after donating my bowfin to Riverbanks Zoo for display. Guess it's gonna have to be a shiner/Blackbanded sunfish tank.
