Hello,

Well, sort of, maybe a returning member might be more accurate. I was a member back in the 80's, have always loved Native fishes, love collecting (I collect with clients now in S. America)and am now re-joining.

I have recently relocated to the Houston, TX area, and I am interested to hear from any Texas, Louisiana, Gulf Coast members who are wanting to go collecting. I have no real specific interests; they all fascinate me! But if I had to choose, my first loves are Killies, Shiners and Sunnies...

Feel free to contact me directly via the forums or give me a call or email. I am here in the States until the end of January, then off to Peru for a few months with clients. But I'll be back in the Spring. So if you are headed out to collect, let me know!

Best Wishes,

Brian Perkins

If I were closer Brian I would love to collect. Arizona is unfortunately very strict on collecting fish, even non-natives or exotics.

I'm from Austin originally, and now live about 20 minutes east of Lake Charles. My winter is probably going to be touch and go as far as collecting opportunities go (especially if there is much travel involved), but I'll definitely go catch some fish with you in the spring. If you do happen to be out this way, let me know. I generally work Mon-Thurs, so my schedule is flexible. PM me if you plan on coming out this way this winter. I might be able to meet you, but with an 11-month old at home, and two theses being wrapped up in the house, it's tough to get away. I work at the LA Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries in Lake Charles and have also sampled extensively in TX, so you can also stop by an BS about the local fish if you come out during the week (and we can flip through records and look at maps if your interested in what we've found where).

Welcome (back) Brian, not likely that I will be close enough to get into the water with you, but good to see some previous NANFA members come back to the organization.

There are a few of you out west, hopefully the others will all speak up.

That had to be a big change going from the PNW to Houston!!
