I take a lot of pictures on my trips and I know from experience if I want professional grade shots I need to lug my tripod. Using a tripod in nature is a pain in the a$ so here is a way to stabilize your camera that fits in your pocket and costs a dollar.

I have tried this and it works pretty well allowing freedom of quick movement and a step better than just hand holding the camera.

....and you can fish you camera out of the stream with the string. Great idea, actually.

Cool idea - a "tension stabilizer" rather than a rigid structure. I suppose you could tie additional washers on higher up the string, for taking shots when squatting or kneeling.
