Hello everybody,

This past summer and fall I worked as a research technician for the Midwest Biodiversity Institute (MBI) based out of Columbus, OH. MBI was contracted to do a comprehensive electrofishing survey of the entire East Branch DuPage River watershed in the Chicagoland area. The East Branch DuPage River begins in the town of Bloomingdale (northwest suburb of Chicago) in DuPage County and flows southwest into Will County before joining the West Branch DuPage River. The DuPage River begins where those two branches meet. The DuPage River flows southward until it meets the Des Plaines River, near the confluence of the Des Plaines River and Illinois River.

I prepared a summary of the results of the survey for a website frequented by anglers in the Chicagoland area. I figured I'd share a link to the results here, as I we have some members that may be interested in the fishes of the Chicagoland area.

Let me know if you have any questions. I may go into more depth about some of the individual sites here in this thread if I get a chance.

Thanks for the link! Wow, that last big carp is ugly. I loved that little black bullhead, though.

Top-notch. Seriously invaluable stuff for a local Illinoisan like myself.
