also considering dipping down into Florida

May I ask for what?

Unless it is a big dip, all I can think of different is maybe Flagfish.

Or if into the panhandle Flagfin shiners.

Yall better watch out for snakes. I bet they will be hungry. Not to mention Gators. Be alert and careful. No drinking and seining.

One week from tonight I will be getting ready to leave for Waycross. We have a great group of folks coming for some or all of the Thursday thru Sunday trip... even including a spouse. Looks like we have NANFAns coming from Georgia, South Carolina, Ohio and New York if everyone makes it...

I hope you don't find that big pile of young cottonmouths we saw along one lake there, unless you're really in to that kind of thing.

It would be great to have you original swamper old timers along for the re-revisit. You could show where those snakes are...

My wife still hasn't recovered from dancing around those snakes, that just doesn't happen in New Hampshire....

I was gonna try out my new stainless steel waders to protect myself from the snakes but they might slow me down for the gators. Might have to use them in combination with a gator cage. Yeah that should do it.

Just checked the weather... looks like some rain this weekend... but clear weather and 80s everyday next week and weekend... might not even need our waders...

Just Back from the Swamp, got some fishes settled into tanks. Wow, what a great trip. New faces and new places mixed well with the same old faces and places from earlier trips. We had eleven fish enthusiasts on Saturday. Thanks to Dave, Chip, Steven, Duuuuustin, Mark, Alejandro, Rob, Keith, Becca, and Mike for joining me Back in the Swamp.

We will have more reports later but on the way home we were able to count over 30 species of fishes observed..

And no gators and only one snake that I heard of...

I stopped collecting after doing some math and realized I wouldn't have any more room in my tanks.

I was right.

We're still working through the aftermath and now enticing the fish to eat the tasty treats I have in store. They're getting used to their new homes.

I'll post some photos later.

Great trip. Good to meet everyone new (to me) and great seeing old friends. The company was half the enjoyment of the trip.

I had a great time. It was a short trip, but worth it. It was great to meet everyone that I hadn't met before. Big thanks to Dustin and Chip for convincing me to go and for allowing me to ride with them. Looking forward to the next one!

Those south Georgia brook silversides are really nice - did anybody attempt to keep some?
