I found this guy in a the Mukwanago river in SE WI and was wondering if anyone can say for sure what this is from these 2 pictures. I tried to catch him after the photos but was unsuccesful. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the confirmation. It was out in the middle of the day just sitting there. I walked up with 3 ft of it and then it got startled and tried to swim under my boot.
I live in Madison and don't make it out to SE WI that often. But I would be open to meeting and learning more about fish.

Are you a member of the Madison Area Aquatic Hobbyists? If is a local fish club. There are some people keeping natives in there.
