I visited the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga for the first time today and was very impressed by the amount of native fish. The Ocean building was far from impressive but if you are in chattanooga i would recomend going to the aquarium for the broad array of native fresh water, from many types of shiners to darters and sunfish (in addition to all the large fresh water fish). Anyways, thought i would make a comment here in case anyone is ever in the area and wondering if is worth the time.

I have been there a couple of times - I enjoyed both visits but the first time I visited (shortly after they opened) I thought they had better displays of non-game fishes.

I was there quite a few years ago and saw their plunge pool that was two or three stories and full of brook, brown, and rainbows. The brook males were in full spawning colors and absolutely gorgeous and appeared to be in the 3 to 4 lb. range.
