Hello all. I am an avid fisherman in Brooklyn NY and the other day I woke up to go fishing and found this fish on the Hood of my car.. any idea what it is? Someone must not like me ;(

I have read conflicting information as to if the John Dory was found in the Americas or not, further reading shows the American John Dory is a seperate species. Here is a picture of it. The silvery color makes it look a bit closer but it has spots unlike your fish.

Holy crap. The spotted pic does look like my fish.. I don't know but someone could have bought it at a fish market then dumped it..
But mine didn't have spots and the other looks a bit more olive to be mine. Do you think this is it?

First chaos. After further digging you are correct! Look up silvery john dory and you'll see my fish. Perfect! Thank you!!!
