Hello everybody.

My name is Allan Guerriero. I am a Network Engineer living and working in "North Country" NY where I support the troops at Fort Drum. I have been into fish since I was a little kid; I love to catch them and look at them but rarely eat them. I have a beautiful wife Lori and 4 children - Reina, Devin, Logan, and Keira.

My mom raised/bred Angelfish, kissing fish, and Tetras when I was a kid growing up in Downriver Michigan. I started my own fish collection in about 2000 with nothing but Cichlids. Last fall when I came home for an R&R from Afghanistan I took my kids fishing for pan fish at Perch River NY. We caught about 40 Perch 3-5 inches and released them into our 40'x60' foot pond in our back yard (The Herons love to eat my fish so I have to keep putting them in there). When I let the last one go, the kids asked if we could put some in the tank. I got out the net and scooped up two Sunfish, a Yellow Perch, and a SM bass. I put the Perch into one of my tanks, and the Bass/Sunfish in another. Since then I have been looking to start a 210 gallon NA Native tank in my basement. I am currently looking for different species of NA Native fish that can rival the coloring and marks of the Central American, and African ciclids that I collect.

95 Gallon - Young Adults and Adults
1x SM Bass
1x Pumpkinseed
1x African Giraffe Hap
1x Central American Jack Dempsey
1x Auratus
1x Frontosa

54 Gallon - Juveniles
1x Yellow Perc
1x Pumpkinseed
2x Frontosa
2x Convict
3x Jack Dempsey

Looks like you have a pretty decent collection there. Welcome to the site, It's always nice to have a fellow New Yorker.

Welcome, wow NY is looking lively I'm in Schenectady NY. I like to get up north occasionally maybe this summer we can get together. Pumpkinseeds are one of my favorites, granted somewhat aggressive but gorgeous.

Yeah, like in the previous post, beware of pumpkinseeds becoming very aggressive. They're not a schooling species, and if they become aggressive they don't go halfway.
