First off, no, I never read the book, but the title fits!

As a middle and high schooler I ate, breathed, and slept fish. I kept a couple tanks, went fishing anytime I could, read every fish book and magazine I could find, and loved a good crick stompin'. I was even a NANFA member, with a puny little tank dedicated to a madtom (called a "tony" where I grew up in upstate NY) and a sunfish I never did identify positively.

But you older guys know the story; college, jobs, wife, kids, bills, ad nauseum, all leading to the predictable outcome, withdrawl from the hobby. I'm looking forward to getting back into natives now, though. My interest in fishes is returning. Also my girls love being out in nature, and are still young enough to want to be with Daddy, so it seems like a perfect way to bond with them in and around SC, our current home state.

Planning on becoming a member once again. Hope to hear from some of you and even get out in the water!

Welcome back to NANFA :) South Carolina has some great fish and lots of fellow members to go out in the field with.

Thanks, Erica! I see what you mean about the SC members. I'm looking forward to meeting them in person, and on the water sometime.
