I just bought a potted bunch of Lilaeopsis brasiliensis...and when I checked there was a tiny African Dwarf Frog that came with it...so I just got a new extra pet... must have hid in the middle of the leaves...anyway I was wondering what are the ways I can kill off any parasites before putting it in my tank? I am gonna put it in a tank with some Otocinclus in it so I am not worried with any algae but I noticed some trumpet snails in the leaves...bigges it 8mm but I saw some micro ones too...so I dont think I am gonna be able to pick out every single one....and I really dont want them in this particular tank...
Would salt work?

I've never treated any plants for parasites, so BEWARE of the following info and use at your own risk!

Some people dip in a mild bleach solution to kill off algae, inverts, and eggs. Never tried it myself. I would rinse carefully afterwords.

I think quarrantine in a small tank treated with copper would certainly work

Peroxide in high doses could work for some things.

Nothing seems like an easy fix, but if you have a particular tank you want to keep hitchhiker-free, it might be worth it.

I should think the salt concentrations necessary to kill parasites would probably also kill a lot of your plants, even if used as a dip.
