Already have plans with Trey, Owen & Dustin to run down to the coast.

Please note that you require a scientific collection permit if you plan on collecting north of the Norfolk-Southern rail line in Oconee, Pickens & Greenville counties (pretty much anything more than 10 miles north of I-85 in those counties and including all of the spots we visited back in August). All streams north of that line are considered trout streams and can only be fished with hook & line without the permit (Fritz and the Riverbanks crew both had the permits on my trip). Even the hook&line fishing is tightly regulated as to what type bait and whether it's artificial or live. Quote from SCDNR reg book, pg 21 under the heading "Prohibited Areas":

"No nongame fishing devices of any kind may be used in SCDNR-managed lakes (as listed on pg 18), or waters above the Norfolk-Southern Railroad track in Greenville, Pickens and Oconee counties, except in Lakes Hartwell and Keowee and Twelve-Mile Creek."

Nongame fishing devices would include minnow seines, dipnets and minnow traps. Basically, if you're caught with a seine or dipnet in these waters, without the required permit, you could be subject to a big fine, irregardless of age.

killier,
I saw where I missed a couple of calls from you over the past several days. As I have told you before, my cell phone is for emergencies only! I can't imagine there being an emergency so dire that you would need to call me on it. If you need to contact me, do so either by PM or E-mail.

You should post this in the section on South Carolina regulations, its definitely useful info. I'm glad we take such good care of our non-native fishes here in SC.
