very nice... I am not much on sunfish tanks, but this one could change my mind... well done.

And thanks for showing the "unders" and not just the fish!

Very nice tank, i always enjoy watching vids of your tank. I think the leafy plants on the left side of the tank look quite nice. what type are they? i also like that you move the driftwood up a bit so you couldn't see the top of the wood. i do that with every piece of my own so it looks like a tree fallen into a lake

Thanks, I believe the plant is Longleaf Pondweed. The driftwood fits better in the 180 than it did in the 150.The 150 was taller.

Very nice tank. Last night my wife was musing about a fish tank in the living room of the house that we just bought. Your tank and video could very well be an inspiration. Actually, I think she was hinting about having one tank instead of racks of tanks, but I could still use this to my advantage.

Thanks for sharing. Unfortunate about the construction videos but heh life happens.

I think I see eight 2x4 uprights. 180 gal @ approx 12lbs / gal including tank and substrate is approx 2160 lbs. So approx 270 lbs load per upright ? Is there a cross-brace or what did you do to help with lateral stability ?

Thanks, I hope it works out with your wife and that my video will help convince her.

Your right, about 270 lbs load per upright. If I remember, I believe the compression rate of an upright 2x4 is around 450 lbs psi.So I feel the stand is ok their. As for lateral support I should have put in a brace. I wasn't thinking about it then as I am going to cover the stand with plywood. That would give it the lateral support it needs. In the meantime I pray it holds up until then. So I better get around and get that done.
