This might not necessarily be in the right category, but oh well...

Where online can you buy native north american fish? The only ones I know of are sach's and zimmerman's, and sach's has more fish but higher prices. Not all available fish are available on either site...

You have to look at it as a question of quality vs. quantity. There are natives for sale on aquabid, but that's definitely a case of buyer beware. Besides Zimmerman and Sachs, you should check Jonah's Aquarium which is also listed here. All three are reputable NANFA members; it's a fairly small universe of people in this business.

If you join NANFA, we have a trading dock here that only members can see.
http://www.nanfa.org/join.shtml
Then you can offer some of your local fish/plants in trade for someone else's local fish/plants.

Mark, how do I see the pricing on the Warpaints/MRBD? Of the small warpaints you gave me at the convention, a few died and the others are looking more like Redlip Shiners as they are getting bigger.

I don't think there were any redlips in that batch, but I could be wrong. There were Tennessee Shiners in there. They have black "stitching" along the lateral line. Did I pull the fish out for you? If so, I'm fairly confident they were warpaints. Much more elongated with a bigger (deeper) head than any Notropis that would have been in there. There may have been Saffrons. They have a dark mark on the peduncle as do the Tennessees. Other possibility is Whitetail Shiner, but no red on those. Anyway, I'm out of the warpaints. Might have a few MRBD left. Do have SRBD, but I guess you can get those locally. Here's my in stock list: http://jonahsaquariu...te/fishlist.htm Have some longears coming in soon too. Have both white-finned and red-finned Yellowfin Shiners. I know, what's the deal, right? There are three or four color strains (wild) of Notropis lutipinnis. Email me for info: jonah@jonahsaquarium.com Also, just got Erimystax x-punctatus.

I'll try to get a photo...I was guessing Redlip, I didn't know what area they came from. So I'd go with Saffron. They're not TN or Whitetails. You did get them out for me, but they were really small. Like I said, a few died or got eaten, no doubt that some may have been Warpaints.

And yes, I do like those Erimystax!
