Netted these little guys in Lake Greenwood, SC today. They were travelling in a kettle of hundreds upon hundreds of fish. Anybody care to take a stab at them? I can't tell if there are two different species here, or just two different ages of the same fish. Two distinct body types, though. All your typical southern reservoir fish, plus my greenfin shiners, frequent the area I got these fry in at some point in the year. The largest were ~3/4 of an inch long. And, as would be expected, they were all gently returned to their peers in the lake.

There's just a few shiners that live in Piedmont reservoirs. The larger ones look like greenfin shiner, or maybe (but less likely) whitefin shiner. Golden shiners may also be in there, although I can't see any in your pix. The smaller slimmer fish could be any minnow.
