Ive always wanted to know what species of darter lived in my creek, so I thought you guys might help me out. Ill probably make a separate post for each specimen because my computer has problems with photos. Here is the creek, it is a trib of the maumee river in northwest Ohio.Attached File  creek.JPG   204.29KB   1 downloads

Yes, they are temporarily in an aquarium for taking pictures. I was hoping some would be greenside but they seemed a little small. I have a 4 in greenside from the maumee river and its much bigger than those

The rest are greensides, and the shiner is lythrurus. Not sure what is in the drainage umbratilus, or fasciolaris. Some are in photo tanks, and I cnnot tell if the others are or are in a home aquarium or not. We have a strict policy on Iding fish in home aquariums. If they are, I need to remove this thread. Please read the ID guidelines at the top of the ID section. We have to be sure that fish are photoed streamside. The last thing we want is for T&E species photographed in an aquarium. Luckily, I am from Ohio, and know that either way, no laws have been broken here. But please for future reference use the photo tank, and make it easy on the moderators.

Ok, i really appreciate the info, and if you want you can remove the thread, its no big deal. I was just curious if i had greensides in the creek. Thank you

I will let it stay. I know the law. Please make sure there is no question again. Thanks Matt
