I've kept aquariums since I was a child. Recently, I've become more involved in fishing to catch as many different species as possible. In the past year, I've tried to teach myself as much as possible about fish identification and I hope to learn more here

Welcome, there are a lot of folks here that can help you ID fish... one thing I would recommend if possible... and this kinda goes out to all you microfishing guys... its a lot easier to ID a fish if you can see the fins. Carry a small tank with you, have some water in your hands, something to keep the fish form just being a clamped down torpedo.

Thank-you for the Welcome, Wolf. I constructed my own container a while back out of plexiglass, but it broke easily. The container store has an ideal container... but it's not in Canada. I'm in the process of finding some sort of container that would work... but it still eludes me. Any suggestions??? It has me stumped. ](*,)

Welcome! It's nice to see more anglers joining NANFA. I think we can play a crucial role in bringing respect to the fishes that don't normally receive it.

Thanks for the reminder about good ID photos.

Welcome!

Michael's pictures turn out better than mine, but I do a passable job with a small plastic betta tank from the lfs. I have found they work a little better than the critter keepers at the lfs, as the the betta tanks are less wide, which limits some of the fish's movement.
