I'm from NJ and just spent the last 2 years in Virginia Beach. Well, now my Wife's career is taking us to Maryland. We will ne renting in Aberdeen, kinda in the north east part of the state. Not a far drive to the eastern shore, NJ and PA. I'm looking foward to visiting some rocky bottom streams. They kinda dont exist in SE Virginia. Any forum members local?

I'm not too far (1.5 hours without traffic, but there's always traffic : ) ) near Norristown PA. Kepner Creek about 2 miles from my house sounds like what you're looking for. I guess since you're from NJ and have been in VA you're used to it, because they deserve honorable mention but imo MD takes the prize for being the worst state to drive in from a police standpoint!

All moved in. Anyone local? They sell live bait at the 7-11. Thats a good sign.

Check out Susquehanna State Park. Some cool stuff there, and some decent habitat. Should be about 20 minutes from you.

NE Maryland, huh? Be on the lookout for Etheostoma sellare, not seen in 20+ yrs, "probably extinct" but maybe you'll be the guy to prove otherwise.

Yeah good luck with that one. We made a graph of number of hours spent searching vs. number seen and it is one of the most skewed ratios of any rare/extinct fish. Multiple groups looking (including a few others here), multiple gears, historic locations, suitable locations, etc. you name it, it's been looked.

Be sure to read your reg book, Maryland has some odd bait collecting regulations.
