My guess is juvenile pumpkinseed, but I'd feel better with a 2nd opinion. Also, here is another fish I caught in the Wisconsin River. Also a juvenile pumpkinseed?

This fish was caught in the Mukwonago River, WI, a tributary of the Fox River (the one going down into Illinois). Thanks!

I'm no expert, but that bottom one doesn't look like a pumpkinseed...the ed and blue up front reminds me of a longear or a dollar sunfish. Just my guess

At glance, I'd say the first is redear. The second one is pumpkinseed, no doubt.
I will say, though, if you stare at the first pic long enough, you may "make yourself see" some pumpkinseed characteristics like those faint spots on its side.

Yeah, I thought the first was maybe a redear too but I am fairly convinced after looking at it a while that they are both p-seeds. Redears wouldn't have the spotting on the side or the blue markings on the face.

Agree, both P seeds. Red ears also have a very distinctive head shape. Very triangular.

Bottom (male) is pumpkin x bluegill or bluegill x pumpkin.
