Just letting everyone know that Ecology of North American Freshwater Fishes by Stephen T. Ross is out. I just received my copy and it looks promising. I will post some highlights of the text once I wade through it (could be awhile -- too many books, not enough time or energy).
Part 1 on 'Faunal Origins, Evolution, and Diversity' looks particularly robust. You can look inside the book on Amazon to see if it covers any topics of interest. It is reasonably priced at $50-70, depending on the vendor used.
Happy reading,
Blake

Blake, since many of us may not get around to reading it, if you feel so inclined we'd love to get short summaries posted of whatever interesting tidbits you glean from it ... after all you did start this thread.

I thought about that, Fritz. I certainly don't have the expertise or credentials to post a constructive review, but I could organize some of the highlights in a readable fashion.
