Anybody want to take a shot at this? I don't have a mouth photo. Came from the Rockcastle River drainage in KY. I caught a lot of small ones, and saw some larger ones while snorkeling.

I know, I know, it's a sucky photo. But I'm thinking Smallmouth.

River chub?

I actually first thought river chub, the mouth didn't really have that redhorse look to it... but it's hard to tell when they are small

Red Tail Chub.

Very possibly, now that I look at it.

Chubs are not my strong point.

If you are at the spot I was telling you about it is a red tail chub. Pretty common there.

Even if you aren't at that spot pretty certain its a red tail lol

That's were I was. I was hoping to see a Redlips Darter, but no luck. After snorkeling for a while I finally found a Bloodfin to video, but the water was cloudy and my camera was having trouble focusing.

The last Redlips I caught there was just downstream of the bridge, on the edges of those little islands. Right before it kinda drops off into the chest deep pool.

We'll have to go down there together sometime.

That we do man, I've really slacked off getting out on my own now. Then again I'm out most of the week doing it for work. I've worked a ways downstream but really haven't checked out upstream have seen redhorses on the bank where people have cut them up and thrown them out ( not sure what they were doing straight deep knife cuts but no flesh removed). Find plenty of bloodfins and bluebreasts?

Lots of Bluebreasts, not as many Bloodfins. The water was a little cloudy, not great for underwater vids. I need to get back to my Bloodfin spot on Buck Creek for some video, maybe next spring. I think I need to invest in a wetsuit. That waster was quite chilly after these cool nights we've had.
