Some questions have been coming up on the NANFA mailing lists about lodging for the event. I did a Google map search and found there is a ton of lodging all sort of clustered together pretty close to Guilford College.

http://maps.google.c...r...080338&om=1

The two most convenient to the convention location seem to be:

Howard Johnson
341 S Swing Rd, Greensboro, NC
(336) 294-4920

Hotel Greensboro
415 S Swing Rd, Greensboro, NC
(336) 315-1500

Viridari - both of those hotel listings are out-of-date.
The "Hotel Greensboro" is now Clarion Hotel and is our Official NANFA Conference Hotel.
Its about 2 miles from Guilford College and 4 miles from Greensboro PTI Airport
(I-40 Exit 213 at Guilford College Rd.)

Clarion Greensboro Airport Hotel
415 Swing Rd.
Greensboro, NC 27409
336-299-7650
http://www.clariongreensboro.com

We've negotiated a NANFA group rate with Clarion:
Double or King Room without Breakfast - $59.00 (1-4 people)
Double or King Room with Breakfast - $69.00 (1-2 people)
Double or King Room with Breakfast - $79.00 (3-4 people)
Clarion has a restaurant, and Breakfast is full hot breakfast: eggs, meat, grits, waffles, etc not just muffins

Clarion Group rate reservations are guaranteed until MAY 7, one month before the conference.
You'll probably want to arrive Thurs pm and stay thru Sun night to attend both days of collecting.

I WILL PROVIDE MORE INFO on other nearby (cheap) hotels, campgrounds, Greensboro airport, car rentals, etc tonight or tomorrow. Also we can use this forum to arrange roommates, car rental companions, etc. For collecting trips Sat -Sun it would be best if folks renting cars could get together and rent large vehicles; it'll be easier to stay together and park with fewer vehicles.

Also start gathering goodies for the AUCTION, Friday after the talks.

I did not notice the May 7 part before (sorry). I just called and the guy said the block is full, and the group rate is no longer available. He also said that if the person who originally called and ordered the block should call and request that the block be enlarged, he may be able to give me the group rate. I don't suppose you could do that, please? [-o< I would like to check in on June 8 and check out on June 11. Thanks for considering it.

Ed - Please try them again. I contacted the hotel and here is their reply.

Mr. Rohde:

I do apologize - it appears there was some confusion with one of the folks at the front desk. Your group has picked up around 40 rooms each night so far - and we are happy to continue to allow you to book rooms. We have discussed with the staff to be sure there is no further confusion.

Thanks so much!
Mistelle Langen

If you have any more problems, please let me know.

I have a room (non-smoking) reserved for Thu-Fri-Sat nights and could take a roommate.
