The greenheads in my 55 must have really appreciated that one day spike in Fahrenheit we had because some of them were really showing off. There are a couple who just enjoy chow time and color up some, but not like this. I can only guess it's due to the windows being open and the in-house temp going up a few degrees. Nothing else changed.

As usual, my video skills are showcased. Unfortunately, they are very POOR skills... But as it's the color and not the shape I'm trying to picture, the video is ok. And mercifully short. :)

Very cool! What did your tank temp go to for that change?

Thanks, Stephen. I thought it was, too. Certainly wasn't expecting it. I really don't know what the tank temp got to. The temperature outside got to 82, and we had the doors and windows open, so I reckon the house got to around 80, and the tank would've been mid-high 70s. This time of year the house is usually high 60s-very low 70s, so thinking on it, it must've seemed like early summer to those guys...

Noticed you haven't been around much lately. I'm guessing school was keeping you busy. That time of year...

Wonder if the weather is as weird to the fish as it is to us...snow one day, 80 degrees the next.

I've been lurking around most days. Schools definitely keeps me busy right now.

Look at the pretty yellow fins in those fish. Just sayin'. But they did red up for you very nicely. They must be enjoying their food. Good on ya'.

And nice Cyprinella too!

Thanks, Michael. Yup, those fins are some kind of yellow. I'm smack in the middle of that Saluda drainage where all the N. chlorocephalus/lutipinnis shenanigans take place. I don't know if Molly Cashner has published her work on these guys yet. I remember somewhere Fritz saying he thought she was close.
